Our first adventure in Cancun was a trip to Chichen Itza. Our tour was arranged through the Book It Now Cancun site. I actually caught up on a little sleep while on the bus ride. Lots of history and intriguing stories. We loved it.

It was aalmost 2 hours from Playa del Carmen but it was in a lovely air conditioned bus that served us snacks and drinks. The location ofChichen Itza was a huge surprise. There is so much to see and the guide was so knowledgeable.

This tour was very informative. The guide knew a lot. The ball court was fascinating. You can no longer climb this temple since it's Wonder of the World status. It did rain, but we found cover in the jungle area surrounding the park.

Visit this site with Alicia, who works for bookitnowcancun.com. Private tour with great details and extremely knowledgeable of culture. Great history. Worth the drive to this majestic place. I was told to try the evening show but was unwilling to hang out for another 6 hours. Maybe next time.

We specifically went to this area of Mexico to visit Chichen Itza and we were not disappointed. Getting there early will help you beat the crowds as well as the hot weather. We were done by 12 pm and had a good look around with our guide which makes a huge difference from just looking to having a full understanding of how the location came into existence.

I love historical places. This place is located in the middle of the jungle and contains such a rich yet mystical history! The scenery was beautiful, well preserved and had lots of different ancient structures to see. The iguana’s were really cool and prehistoric looking.

The ruins at Chichen Itza were well-preserved and an amazing site to see in person. The different structures and temples were very detailed and in amazing shape for their age. We had a very limited amount of time at the site due to being on a Carnival excursion from Cozumel.

what a great place to visit - this is a must see if in the area.
the site is large so would recommend spending several hours. Everything is well preserved but be prepared for large crowds and especially groups of people. Thank you very much bookitnowcancun.com

An amazing place, worth the trip from Cancun.
In addition to seeing the spectacular main pyramid, there's plenty of other structures sorted around the site. In particular, don't miss the observatory. Also keep an eye out for the many detailed carvings and statues on the various buildings.
Note that none of the structures at this site can be climbed.
Obviously, as this is one of the New7Wonders, this place can get very busy. The earlier you go, the more time you'll have to enjoy it.
